Media & Education

It might be too late for many of us - we may be too far embedded into the consumer culture to bail us out of consuming everything in our path. Although, it is not too late to teach critical media skills to our youth to understand the global impact of commercial mass marketing. ACME Education Working Group posts important educational resources for the teacher, student and parent to help children unravel what is good for them from what they are told that they need to own.
Media & Health
The strongest arguments supporting media literacy might be those based on the impact of media on the public's health. Intuitively, anecdotally and increasingly scientically evidenced, people know that media cumulativly impacts public health. The Media and Health Research Working Group has developed a database where you can find research on media literacy and health and to support the work of our coalition members.
Independent & Youth Media Production
The Independent Media Action Group is developing a comprehensive list of resources for media producers as well as a database of independent films, videos, and other media. Check out ACME Youth Media!
