ALTERNATIVE NEWS SOURCES: THE ORWELL PROJECT, EDITION I

ACME members submitted this list of news sources to the Orwell Project. The list will remain a work in progress as it gets upgraded and expanded. Small blurbs on each site give basic info, but most sites offer a similar range of options—blogs, columns, video clips and/or animation, opinion—and a passion for free airwaves. ACME members are urged to visit these sites and give us feedback. Given the many-talented people in the media reform movement, it is entirely possible that some excellent sites were not included, out of oversight, not overbearing editing. If you find a great site that doesn’t appear on this list, send it immediately to lynnztv@earthlink.net, the e-mail for ACME National Board Member (and proud cyber-parent of The Orwell Project) Lynn Ziegler.

We honor FREE PRESS, an active part of our coalition, and so they appear here first—much the way their information does. Go to www.freepress.net, one of the main sponsors of the 2005 National Conference on Media Reform, for a site that promotes media reform through “outreach, activism, lobbying”--and great energy.
